Happy birthday, Mary Beth!
Do you remember the time you and I had a lengthy discussion about cornbread? I think it was when you were staying at our house when you and Ned were in Cleveland for your engagement party. We agreed to swap recipes, and when I got yours, I realized I was going to have to buy a larger cast-iron skillet than the one I had been using--which had been passed down to me from my grandmother and then my mother.
I hate to tell you, but I think my cornbread is better than yours. However, I've always been glad that your recipe forced me to buy that big skillet!
